Why we do what we do…
The mission of the Rose City Farmers Market is to enhance the lives of the community by creating reliable access to healthy, fresh, locally grown food; delivering consistent wellness education; generating much-needed income and support for local farmers, food producers, and artisans by providing programs that foster social gathering.
Rose City Farmers Market member farmers voluntarily participate in training which allows them to participate in the Farmers Market Nutrition Progam, popularly known as WIC. Eligible WIC participants are issued FMNP vouchers which provide access to fresh, unprepared, locally grown fruits and vegetables to WIC participants, and to expand the awareness, use of, and sales at farmers' markets.
We also have the ability to accept SNAP from the SNAP card and will exchange the benefits for market tokens to shop with. We will also match that amount, $1 for $1, up to $30 per day! Use the SNAP market dollars to buy any SNAP eligible foods at the market, including bread, meat, honey, and other farm fresh foods. Double Up may be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables and more!
